Men's Ministry
Who we are. Our group is made up of Samaritans Hill men and their invited guests. Our goal, through study, discussion and prayer, is to gain a better understanding of God’s Word and its practical application to our daily life.
Meetings are held via the ZOOM app on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 and usually wrap up no later than 8:30PM. Our Samaritans Hill Men’s Group study runs from early September through the first or second week in May with a three week break during the Christmas season and one week at Easter.
This fall, we are using Pastor Christopher M. Kennedy’s book “Equipped, The Armor of God For Everyday Struggles” as our resource material. The core scripture is Ephesians 6 where God lists the tools He has given us to combat the spiritual battles we all face on a daily basis. Each chapter covers a tool and describes its use. In addition, there is a concluding chapter and a chapter on prayer. The “Forward, Preface and Introduction” provide extra useful information.
Meetings start with a brief time to “catch-up” with one another, then prayer and then we’ll dig into the lesson. We share insights from the book, talk about topics that may not be understood and review the questions at the end of each chapter. Through our time together, we encourage one another by prayer asked and prayer answered, by sharing and fellowship; our faith is nurtured, we learn from one another and our Christian walk with God is strengthened.
