It is a New Year. 2020 is behind us and 2021 lay ahead of us. Are you hopeful?
It is with hope, not in the new year, but in the Lord, that we can move into this new year with confidence and faith. A verse that Pastor Ken shared recently speaks to this truth. The verse is Isaiah 40:31, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Thank you, God, for your words of hope!
We learn so much as we study God’s Word. Just before Christmas we finished our study on, “The Power of Jesus Names”. If you were unable to join us perhaps it might work to come to the next Bible study entitled, “Crossing the Waters” by Leslie Leyland Fields, scheduled to begin January 11, 2021. The following excerpt provides a little insight as to what the study is about:
“In this 6-part series, Leslie Leyland Fields, author, speaker, and seasoned Alaskan fisherwoman, takes us on a journey through the life of Christ. She leads us across the waters of time and culture out onto the Sea of Galilee, through a rugged season of commercial fishing with her family in Alaska, and through the waters of the New Testament beside the ragtag fishermen disciples. Her own story and her fresh insights will challenge our understanding of Jesus and what it means to “Come, follow me.” “
Like our previous study, we will gather “virtually” on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 for a short video, small group discussion and a time to share and pray for one another. A Zoom link is sent out via email providing the link to join the study. If you are interested in attending but may not be able to commit to each week, that is OK. We would still like to encourage you to come when you can. Please join us on Monday, January 11th for the beginning of the 6-part series, “Crossing the Waters”.
We shared earlier this fall about an in-person gathering we were hoping to begin at Samaritans Hill called First Saturday. Unfortunately, due to the increased positive Covid-19 cases, we had to postpone the December and January First Saturday gatherings. However, a February First Saturday is being planned! Stay tuned for more information on that coming soon!
