March Food Shelf Collection
February 21 - April 4 2021
It has been difficult for Samaritans to continue their serving ways as a congregation because of the pandemic. However, March is food shelf month, and it is a great way for us to serve our neighbors by helping stock our local food shelves. The amount of funding that Minnesota grants to local food shelves is often measured in the month of March and so it coincides well with Lent.
During March, we are asking members to bring a food shelf item with them to worship. These items will be distributed between CROSS, which is the food shelf in Rogers, and the Hanover Food Shelf located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover, which serves Albertville and St. Michael. We are also asking our members who are currently worshipping at home due to Covid 19 to participate. We will arrange a non-contact pick up of your donated food shelf items. Together, we can make a difference for all our neighbors.
Our goal for this food drive is 500 pounds of food. The donated items will be weighed before delivery. You can also contribute financially. One dollar counts as one pound of food toward our goal!
