The Road to Moriah: The Test
I grew up in a traditional Methodist church in Iowa. The Methodist Church, historically anyway, has as a core value of creating systems in your life to help you avoid sin. Bible studies and filling your time with Christian fellowship was encouraged to keep members from temptations. A natural byproduct of that pragmatic value is a saying I heard many times, “this is a test.” This life is a test. God tests us. Not to see if you earn your way to Heaven, but will you show a devotion to God, your Savior, in response to His grace?
